The Exchange Club of Greater Durham helps to support many local charities.

Exchange Family Center

​

The Exchange Family Center in Durham is committed to strengthening area families and preventing child abuse through family support and parent education programs.

 

Family Center Programs include: Family Support, provided in a family’s home, helps parents who need additional support to understand their children's behavior and learn more effective parenting skills. Parenting of Adolescents (POA), offers in-home counseling and group sessions that help parents effectively set limits, strengthen their relationship with their adolescent, and increase communication skills. Early Childhood Outreach (EChO), offers consultation services and support to Durham families and child care providers when a pre-school age child's behavior presents a challenge.

 

The Center also collaborates closely with Prevent Child Abuse (PCA) North Carolina. Prevent Child Abuse Durham goals are to be the community's voice for the prevention of child abuse and neglect and to spread the message that all parents need support and information because parenting is the most difficult job anyone will ever have.
